Geographic Information Systems
Geographic Information System (GIS) specialists employ state-of-the-art systems — and develop new software tools — for the visualization, management, and analysis of spatial data. GIS is an exciting technology, and people with this expertise are in demand.

GIS combines layers of information about a place to give you a better understanding of that place. What layers of information you combine depends on your purpose—finding the best location for a new store, analyzing environmental damage, viewing similar crimes in a city to detect a pattern, and so on.

Remote Sensing
Basicly the aim of Remote Sensing is to work with images from a wide range of terrestrial, airborne, and spaceborne platforms as well as from a variety of camera, radiometer, radar and laser. Our students learn how to process digital images leading to the creation of digital maps and spatial data bases for environmental planning, resource inventory, and engineering projects.

Geodesy
Geodesy is the mathematically-challenging science of determining the size and shape of the earth, the nature of the earth’s gravity field and the changes over time. It deals with determining positions on the earth, on other celestial bodies, and in space.
